A pharmaceutical company has announced the first-ever herbal product to be approved for use in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
Cipla Inc. said on Monday it will begin marketing a “natural” herbal product, the first of its kind in the world, to help men regain control of their sexual health.
The product is called “Zoladex” and was launched in the United States on April 30.
Cipla will be making its first-ever product in its Phase III trial of “Zoladex” to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
“Cipla has developed a safe and effective treatment option for erectile dysfunction,” the company said in a statement.
The treatment option will include a supplement to help men achieve an erection, according to Cipla.
The product is available in 50 mg, 100 mg and 150 mg capsules, which Cipla has launched under its Cipla brand name.
Cipla is the second major pharmaceutical company in Asia to launch a natural product for erectile dysfunction.
Pfizer Inc. is the fifth-largest drug maker in the United States and the sixth largest pharmaceutical company in the world.
Cipla said the product will cost $2.50 for a 20-mg capsule and $5.00 for a 10-mg capsule, which is the same amount as a 100-mg capsule and a 150-mg capsule.
It is estimated to cost more than $700 million for Cipla, and it is the second-largest company in the U. S. after Eli Lilly, the company that has launched Viagra in the U. and Cialis in Europe. Pfizer’s patent for Cipla expired in 2003.

In some cases, the FDA has asked the manufacturer of Viagra to change the label of its product, including the treatment. “We’re not going to change the label,” says Dr. Hausdorff. “We’re going to try to change it.”
Krumholz and Dr. Hausdorff say that the FDA will be able to evaluate the drug’s efficacy, safety and side effects.
“We’re still trying to get the drug in a safe and effective way.”
Krumholz says that, with the FDA’s involvement, the company will continue to try to find ways to get Viagra to be cheaper and for men to get the drug for the same treatment.
In other cases, the company may want to try to find other ways to get the drug in a safe and effective way, he says. And he points to studies that showed a “positive association” between Viagra and a positive effect in the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
